The Dreamers Project – Art Program in Newark

Haitian American Artist Sophia Domeville created a 12 week art program called, “The Dreamers Project which stems from her workshop, “Discover Your Voice” through the arts. Ms. Domeville program combines art history, community activism, leadership building and self re-evaluation within the Arts.

Each week, Ms. Domeville cover and break down the meaning behind:
Freedom of Speech
Community
Dreams
Justice
Racism
and more!

She has partnered up with the I Have A Dream Foundation of Newark “Dreamers” scholarship program where for the next 12 weeks, Ms. Domeville will be teaching students from various schools (North Star Academy, Great Oaks, WLK & more) as well as college aged students(NJIT, Rutgers & Essex County College) about the power of art within the community of Newark!

Currently Ms. Domeville and her team are filming a documentary about the making of The Dreamers Project discussing the power of Art within the community and schools.
